Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background? I am an aging GenXer, who works in tech but spent many years as a musician. In fact I’m a fan of all things music, with live music being one of my biggest vices. I’m also a husband and father. | What inspired you to start a podcast? A couple of years ago I got bored listen to the same music that I’d been listening to for YEARS, but this is what happens as we age. Well, I didn’t like the idea of being bored, so I decided to challenge myself to find new music, and the podcast is my accountability partner |
How did you come up with the name of your podcast? I literally describe what my goal was; to find Songs That Don’t Suck | What is the main focus or theme of your show? Each week I listen to hundred of newly released songs across many different genres, looking for songs that make me feel something. I usually share around 5 per episode. I also talk about different music related topics, concerts I go to, and data trends from the music industry. ![]() |
Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you? The most memorable parts have been when these small undiscovered artists send me a personal message and we get to have a conversation
| Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why? The Bites. I got the whole band for an interview What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about? At the end of this year, I’ll host the second annual The Don’t Sucky Awards, and that will be Episode 100 |
A special thanks to MARK for sharing his insightful podcast journey thus far and we wish him all the best with his continued podcast growth.
