JAY & DAVE’S PODCAST JOURNEY

Meet Jay and Dave, the dynamic duo behind Voice Notes Suck. Known for their candid chats and off-the-cuff commentary, they bring a new flavor to creator community topics. With their unique voice note format, you'll experience raw and spontaneous discussions like never before. Get ready for fun-filled banter, unexpected insights and an extraordinary journey into different subjects with Jay & Dave!

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

We met under unconventional circumstances, online via Twitter Spaces surrounding Web 3 in 2021. Jay was pushing his kids’ brand via NFTs to find some early adopters and Dave was hosting Twitter Spaces with an interest in the blockchain, Web3 and with a strong marketing background. They became instant friends but due to their distance apart in the UK, have kept in touch via voice notes.

What inspired you to start a podcast?

We communicate via WhatsApp voice notes every day, we sometimes get into discussions about things and we just thought, why not share these with the world in a more organized fashion? And so we set up some rules for a podcast. We reckon the topics are helpful, and insightful and could help a lot of people and open up discussions around topics we might not usually approach.

How did you come up with the name of your podcast?

Nobody really likes voice notes do they? Spoiler - we do. The general consensus though, seems to be that people don’t want to sit through two minutes of their mate rambling while they’re putting their socks on or chewing on some corned beef hash, so we decided on a name that was ironic really as the podcast is put together entirely using voice notes.

What is the main focus or theme of your show?

We wanted to pick a topic for each series. The first series focuses on the Digital Community, as that’s where we spend a lot of our time. The second series we’re focusing on AI and the impact it has on society. For the third series we have an idea but don’t want to share it yet as it might change.

Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you?

The sheer speed of production. Being able to reply to each other, in our own time, without interruption, has been one of the highlights for us both and it’s been an efficient way to put it together. We used the assistance of AI too, mainly Chat GPT, to help us put together summaries of the episodes and help with creating our branding graphics and logo. It wasn’t that we needed it

Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why?

We’re our own favourite guests on our phones.

What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about?

We just want to keep recording our discussions, highlight important topics, keep helping others and aim to maybe monetize it somehow if it starts becoming popular. We’re just taking it one small step at a time.

A special thanks to JAY & DAVE for sharing their insightful podcast journey thus far and we wish them all the best with their continued podcast growth.
