WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE PODCAST WORLD
U.S. Army Podcast Showcases Service Members' Personalities

A podcast titled "Better in Bavaria" from a U.S. Army base in Bavaria is looking to connect with audiences outside the military community by showcasing the unique personalities of its service members. The program, which began last year, has released eight episodes so far and can be accessed on Apple and Spotify.

The podcast "Qué Pasa Long Island? The Story of The Secatogue Nine," a collaboration between Hofstra's National Center for Suburban Studies, the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication, and the Law Reform Advocacy Clinic at Maurice A. Deane School of Law, has bagged the top spot in the Race/Diversity Radio category. This win occurred at the Press Club of Long Island Media Awards Banquet which was also celebrating its 50th anniversary.

StreamGuys, a broadcasting service provider, recently shared that their client, Dick Broadcasting, has seen a fivefold increase in monthly advertising revenue. This rise was achieved after the company adopted StreamGuys' ad insertion services for its 19 radio stations across three states in the southeastern U.S. Furthermore, Dick Broadcasting successfully boosted its earnings by using StreamGuys' automated programmatic ad services to fill unsold slots during commercial breaks on live streams and podcasts.

PAVE Studios is joining forces with Khloé Kardashian for a new video podcast under their OpenMind label. The specifics of the 26-episode series are still unknown, but it will be part of Originals on X. This means that each episode will first appear on social media and stay there for a day before it's shared elsewhere.

The Lakers have chosen JJ Redick as their new head coach. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that after a detailed selection process, the former NBA player turned media personality has taken over the coaching reins. Redick, who used to analyse games on TV and run several podcasts including "Mind The Game" with LeBron James, is now ready to guide LA's team from the sidelines.

Elaine Paine, a Parkinson's patient since 2015, shared on this recent Parkinson’s Life podcast how the CUE1 device has improved her symptoms. She was able to handwrite her husband's Christmas card for the first time in three years thanks to this technology. The podcast also included discussions with Dr. Alistair Mackett, a movement disorder specialist and Lucy Jung from Charco Neurotech, who created the CUE1 device. They discussed how such devices can enhance life quality for those suffering from Parkinson's disease.
