Walmart Uses Podcast Influencers for Brand Promotion In recent years, influencers have started to bring their unique voices and followers to podcasting. The rising popularity of podcasts has created new opportunities for marketing, with 70 million people in the U.S. listening to them in 2023 and that number is expected to rise over 113 million by 2029. To create successful influencer-based podcast campaigns, brands need to ensure their audience fits well with the chosen podcast or influencer, nurture relationships with creators, and stay updated on industry trends. | ![]() ctto: Ad Age |
Incarcerated Individuals Share Their Stories on Podcast The "Humanity Unlocked" podcast series by Wisconsin Humanities, now in its second season, brings to light the stories of formerly incarcerated individuals who have engaged with humanities such as writing and art during their time in prison. The aim is to amplify the human experiences within incarceration and highlight how these activities can offer a sense of identity beyond criminal records. Not focusing on why they were imprisoned, the narratives explore how engagement with humanities offers ways of self-expression, meaning-making and restoration of humanity for those impacted by the justice system. | ![]() ctto: News From The States |

DR. PETER STIEPLEMAN’S PODCAST JOURNEY
Meet Dr. Peter Stiepleman, the host of An Imperfect Leader podcast. With over 20 years of experience in teaching and leadership roles across various school districts, he's an expert, but a self-proclaimed imperfect leader himself. From starting his journey in Oakland Public Schools to becoming the superintendent of Missouri's 4th largest school district, Dr. Peter has seen it all. His goal with this series is not just to share his own experiences but also learn from other leaders' stories - their triumphs, challenges and lessons learnt along the way. | ![]() |
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background? Dr. Peter Stiepleman is a nationally recognized leader working with diverse communities, from the United States Embassy in Madrid, Spain, to corporate offices in San Francisco, to the multicultural schools in Oakland, California and Columbia, Missouri. Peter coaches leaders on how to make decisions through systems thinking. In 2021, Peter was named the Missouri Superintendent of the Year. | What inspired you to start a podcast? My podcast asks leaders to look back at decisions they made and consider: What happened; What got overlooked; What did they learn about relationships; What frustrated them; What could they have done differently; and in the end, what was something good that came out of the experience. The aim of this podcast is to lift the learning and lift the imperfect leaders up. |
How did you come up with the name of your podcast? The name came from the notion that leaders are always being told that by reading X or doing Y, they’ll achieve perfection. We’re not perfect. We shouldn’t want to be perfect. We should be constantly striving to learn from our experiences. It is through our mistakes where our greatest learning takes place. We should recognize imperfection as a real advantage. We should be imperfect leaders. | What is the main focus or theme of your show? The most important skill a leader can learn is to deconstruct decisions and the lessons learned from that experience. Educational leaders are not taught to be reflective decision-makers. What I mean by that is they make decisions and then quickly assign a value (either good or bad). The main focus of the show is to ask leaders to think back on a decision and engage in an After-Action Review. ![]() |
Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you? Yes! When Dr. Avis Williams in New Orleans told me that people don't really want transparency. I mean, they don't want to know every part of a decision. What they want is CLARITY. That really stuck out for me. Dr. Scott Menzel in Scottsdale, Arizona boiled down his decision-making to a very simple motto: Because Kids. If you can run every decision through that filter, you'll make good decisions.
| Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why? Meeting Jamie AlmanzÃn has been a highlight. We hit it off and now, in season 3, he will be joining me on episodes. I'm thrilled! What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about? Yes! Season 3 will include some incredible leaders, and it will include Jamie Almanzan as a co-host/commentator. Jamie is a facilitator, teacher, curriculum developer and leadership coach, and is the founder of The Equity Collaborative in Oakland, California. He is so good at asking listeners to consider some of the things he heard throughout the episode. Plus, he's really fun and engaging! |
A special thanks to DR. PETER for sharing his insightful podcast journey thus far and we wish him all the best with his continued podcast growth.

Lots of great free live streaming tools and features are available. Additionally, there are valuable paid services that can enhance live streams. With Restream's subscription plans, users can attract more viewers, create a unique brand presence, and get insights on viewer behavior from performance data.
Stream to Facebook pages
Different platforms offer various streaming options. For example, Facebook allows streaming to a profile, page or group. Restream enables adding multiple channels from the same platform for simultaneous live streams on your Facebook page and group.
Stream on your website
Live video streaming on social media like Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn helps connect with audiences. A more effective way could be to host live videos directly on a website. Using Restream's website video player allows embedding live stream on any webpage.
Fail-safe stream backup
The fail-safe stream backup feature guards live streams from interruptions. It flips between main and second streams if issues arise, giving viewers the best experience. Streams should not exceed 120 hours due to technical limits.
No Restream branding
Paid subscription plans remove the Restream watermark from streams. Users can add personal logos, watermarks, background images and overlays. Custom visuals upload in Restream Studio for immediate streaming with just two clicks.
Stream recording
Save, record and download live streams with Restream. Transform downloaded video or audio files into podcasts and social media content!
Split-track recording
The stream recording feature now includes a split-track addition. This allows separation of video and audio tracks for each participant, simplifying editing and postproduction tasks. Individual video feeds can be edited into short clips, or separate audio recordings can turn live streams into podcasts.
Stream on guests’ channels
Using Restream's pairs feature, you can stream the same video to multiple channels simultaneously. To do so, add your guest's channel link to Restream Studio before going live. This is a paid feature but guests can pair their channel for free during the stream. By combining this with the events feature, guests can create an event link and promote it ahead of time.
Teams
To ensure a successful broadcast, it's beneficial to have an off-screen team. They can handle the live chat, start pre-recorded videos or slides and change the music. With Restream teams, multiple users can join the same live stream in the Studio without needing different accounts. It's also possible to give each person specific roles and privileges for clear operation during live streams.
