PODCAST OF THE DAY
Murder And Mystery In The Last Frontier
In the world of true crime podcasts, many focus on cases from busy cities and infamous criminals. However, only a few explore the remote wilderness of Alaska. One such podcast is Murder And Mystery In The Last Frontier, hosted by Robin Barefield. This podcast immerses listeners in Alaska’s rich history and varied landscape while delving into some of its most chilling crime stories.
One unique aspect about Alaska which makes it particularly interesting for such a podcast is its high rate of violent crime. This can be attributed not only to the resource-seeking population but also to misfits and wanderers who come seeking a fresh start or those looking to exploit the sparse law enforcement in such remote locales.

PODCAST FACTS
Did You Know?
According to IAB’s U.S. Podcast Revenue study, podcast advertising is projected to be worth more than $4 billion by 2024 as more marketers — including behemoths like Amazon, Macy’s and Capital One — pour money into podcast advertising.
Additionally, according to data from Statista, 26 percent of U.S. adults listened to podcasts in the week leading up to the survey. This is a slight dip from the 28 percent who were listening to podcasts weekly in 2021 during the height of the pandemic. However, it’s still a massive jump from the 19 million who were listening in 2013 when podcasts were new. With those numbers, it’s hard to deny that podcasts are on the rise and can significantly impact consumer choices.
The IAB study revealed that listeners respond better to ads podcast hosts read than pre-produced ads, much like any type of endorsement. Host-read ads are responsible for 55 percent of generated revenue
The Nielsen Podcast Ad Effectiveness study found that podcast ads had a 71 percent aided recall rate.
According to Podsights data, podcast lead conversion rates are better or on par with other channels, and average purchase conversion rates increased by 19 percent in 2022.
