STAN HUSTAD’S PODCAST JOURNEY
Stan Hustad is an experienced storyteller, educator and business coach. He has developed a multitude of online courses for his nearly 30,000 students spanning over 150 countries. Currently focused on his project 'What it Takes Radio', Stan brings in four decades worth of broadcasting experience to teach aspiring broadcasters globally.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
I have been a broadcaster for over 45 years. Worked in international mission radio with Transworld Radio, and have worked and trained with the BBC and Radio Netherlands I have taught broadcasting and podcasting to people all over the world.
I am actually one of the inventors of podcasting doing it first by sending audio programs on individual cassettes to my client in my coaching business.
What inspired you to start a podcast?
I was reading and researching best caregiving practices and failing miserably. My goal for my Mom was to give her the best quality of life while not prolonging death from Alzheimer's (easier said than done). When I went looking for a podcast on caregiving, there was one. For better or worse it wasn't my cup of tea so in 2018, I launched my own show.
How did you come up with the name of your podcast?
Without interesting ideas, nothing happens. People who are interesting and have interesting ideas have a greater insight into the world and thereby have a greater influence in the marketplace and they can even make an impact... If you do that you will have a greater income. But income is not just money ... Income is all of the good things that might also come into your life, relationships etc.
What is the main focus or theme of your show?
I am in the business of helping other people become Podcasters and I have a powerful course called how to be a world-class broadcaster. Anybody can learn how to do a podcast but unfortunately, they have no clue of what it means to be a broadcaster. I want people to have a better life in their business and in their relationships and I want to be better starting now.

Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you?
Every day I get to treat my guest and my listeners as if they are the most important person in the world.. When you treat people that way memorable moments happen all the time.
Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why?
His name is John and he used to sell cars, now he is leading an incredible nonprofit group that helps poor poverty-stricken children in one of the poor areas of Mississippi. He is truly a transformed person
What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about?
We are going to be interviewing and giving coaching guidance to the people who will help others become world-class coaches helping others transform lives and making a real difference in the world and in their world. We want to highlight people who do things that really matter.
A special thanks to Stan Hustad for sharing his insightful podcast journey thus far and we wish him all the best with his continued podcast growth.
