The Emmy Awards’ talk show category feels outdated because there are fewer traditional TV talk shows today. Popular video podcasts, like “New Heights” with Travis and Jason Kelce, are attracting huge audiences. These shows often feature celebrity interviews and lively discussions, much like classic talk shows. Awards Circuit suggests that video podcasts should be eligible for Emmy recognition in the talk category. This change would better reflect what audiences watch and how media has evolved.
