Podimo, a European podcast and audiobook subscription service, has acquired the Amsterdam-based podcast production company Tonny Media. The two companies will continue to operate independently but will collaborate on sales and expertise. The acquisition aims to offer Dutch listeners a wider range of high-quality content and attract larger advertising partners.

Singer Studios Launches Pirate Queen Novel and Podcast

Lucy Liu and Singer Studios are developing graphic novels and a podcast for their "Pirate Queen" franchise, based on the life of 18th-century female pirate Cheng Shih. The initial VR version of the story has won awards at Tribeca and Raindance, and is currently up for an Emmy. The first episode of the podcast, directed by Eloise Singer with narration by Liu, will be released September 10th.

How did you come up with the name of your podcast?

It was the title of my book, Rock Your Midlife and really captures the reinvention, rock n roll energy that I want to embody. I think it also appeals to my audience of Baby Boomer and GenX women who grew up with rock music.

What is the main focus or theme of your show?

Tools, techniques, and information that will help midlife women navigate all of the beauty and challenges of midlife from menopause, empty nest, and caring for aging parents to finding meaning and purpose.

Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you?

I was diagnosed with breast cancer a month after starting the podcast which was really intense. Rather than quitting, I interviewed many survivors who shared memorable moments and helped me navigate my breast cancer journey.

Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why?

Dr. Mary Claire Haver. She's one of the revolutionaries making a difference in the field of menopause and was incredibly inspirational and informative.

What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about?

I plan on having some live listener Q & A conversations, expert roundtable discussions, more collaborations with influencers, guided meditations, interactive wellness challenges, and Reiki Healing.
