New Partnership Sees Acast Handling Ads and Distribution for TED Audio

Podcasting company Acast has partnered with TED Audio Collective to exclusively handle its ad sales, hosting and distribution. The deal covers all regions except Australia and New Zealand, where the collective remains with ARN. This move is expected to boost Acast's monetizable listens due to high advertiser demand in areas covered by the TED Audio Collective such as business, tech, health and wellness.

Realm Signs Exclusive Deal with Countdown Network

Audio entertainment company Realm has signed an exclusive distribution deal with Countdown Network for ad sales of its podcasts. The partnership comes just in time for the Christmas Countdown podcast to join Realm’s roster, which is a popular platform for brands during the holiday season. Founded by Eric Petersen and Danny Jordan, Countdown Network covers various topics including Disney, parenting, and theatre and records over 12 million downloads per month.

Sky Sports Wins Big at 2024 Sport Awards

Sky Sports scooped three awards at the 2024 Broadcast Sport Awards, including Best Podcast of the Year for Real Talk and Broadcast Sport TV Moment of the Year for their coverage of young dart player Luke Littler. The Ghost Car feature by Sky Sports F1 won Best Visual Storytelling Using Data and Insight. Sixteen-year-old Littler's journey to the World Darts Championship final drew a large new audience to darts.

Professor Hopes to Solve Classmates' Murder with Podcast

Stacey Nye, a clinical professor of psychology at UW-Milwaukee and co-host of a new podcast "Murder in Morton Grove", aims to solve the 45-year-old cold case murder of Susan Ovington and Eyvonne Bender. The victims were high school classmates of Nye's and their killer was never identified by the local police department in suburban Chicago. In her podcast, which launched in late September, Nye explores different aspects of the case using investigative techniques from forensic genealogy to consulting psychics.

Talkin' RVs: A Fresh Take on the RV Lifestyle

A new podcast called "Talkin' RVs" has been launched, modelled after NPR's famous "Car Talk" radio show. The hour-long show airs twice a month on Saturday mornings and features Randy Murray and Chris Dougherty sharing their combined 70 years of experience in the RV industry with humor and advice. The podcast is available on top channels including iHeart, Apple, and Spotify.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

I am an author having written four books, three about my passion and the subject of my podcast, cruising on the ocean. I am also a travel writer having written for Quirky Cruise Magazine, the authority on small ship cruising. My podcast is 1.5 years old. It is listened to in 118 countries and based on downloads, it is in the top 20%.

What inspired you to start a podcast?

I had written 3 cruising books about passionate cruisers with fascinating stories and decided to replicate that format in audio form.

How did you come up with the name of your podcast?

It was based on the first book of the series, The Joy of Cruising.

What is the main focus or theme of your show?

The main theme of our show focuses on ocean cruising.

Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you?

One memorable moment during the recording was when we announced for the first time that a particular guest was pregnant. This news had not been made public before.

 

Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why?

I love all my guests. But the CEO of StarVista Live, which specializes in music theme cruises invited me on The Soul Train Cruise Jan 2025!.

What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about?

We will soon start advertising in our intro a new, related business venture.

  • Choose your preferred language for the conversion.

  • Upload or paste the text that you want to convert to speech.

  • Choose a voice from the selection of male and female voices with different accents and styles.

  • Customize the voice's speed, pitch, tone, and other settings to your liking.

  • Once you're satisfied with the customization, generate the audio file.

  • Depending on the length and complexity of the text and voice, it may take a few minutes.

  • After generating the audio file, you can download or save it to your computer or cloud storage.

Start cloning a voice

  • Search for videos of the person you want to clone on YouTube.

  • Copy the URL of each video and convert it to MP3 using a YouTube to MP3 converter.

  • Visit https://www.elevenlabs.io/voice-lab.

  • Select "Instant Voice Cloning" under the "Add Voice" section and name the voice.

  • Upload the audio clips of the person you want to clone.

  • Choose "Use" to use the cloned voice.

  • Type in your desired text and click "Generate."

  • Save the cloned voice by clicking on the save icon. 

  • Users can customize the voices by adjusting parameters such as speed, tone, and emphasis, giving them full control over the final output. The software is cloud-based, making it accessible from anywhere with an internet connection, and can be integrated into existing workflows seamlessly.
