The Podcast Landscape 2025 Part One:
The Podcast Landscape 2025 report shows that podcast listening in the U.S. has stayed steady over the past three years, with monthly listeners rising slightly to 55% and people spending more time—an average of 6.3 hours per week—on podcasts. YouTube has become the top platform for podcasts, as more listeners want both audio and video options, while Spotify is also seeing more video usage. Growth is strongest among younger and more diverse audiences, but older adults—especially women—are still an under-served group, and having a celebrity host does not guarantee podcast success.

While other major streaming platforms have talked about adding podcasts, Fox One is one of the first to make podcasts a central feature.

Podcast Of The Day
The First Degree

The First Degree is a long-running true crime podcast hosted by journalist Alexis Linkletter and cultural influencer Jac Vanek that delves beyond mainstream crime reporting to explore intimate, often overlooked perspectives from those closest to the cases—friends, family, and witnesses. With over 500 episodes, the show blends Vanek’s pop culture sensibility and personal fascination with true crime alongside Linkletter’s investigative rigor, honed through work on series like Unraveled: Long Island Serial Killer. Now under the sales representation of AdLarge’s fwd. network, which focuses on female audiences, the podcast is positioned to expand its reach while continuing to prioritize raw, relatable storytelling that builds community among its dedicated listeners.

Podcast Tip Of The Day
To become a sought-after podcast collaborator, focus on being both an expert and an exceptional partner—know your subject inside out, offer unique perspectives, and always overdeliver. Prepare answers to common questions in advance, suggest creative cross-promotion ideas, and go above your commitments (e.g., extend shoutouts or promote extra episodes). By making hosts feel valued and wowing their audience, you turn one-time features into lasting partnerships and recurring invitations.

A Final Note
“The perfect host doesn't just speak—they listen, guide, and make every guest feel like the most important voice in the room.”
