WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE PODCAST WORLD
The Federal Government Spent Millions Producing Their Own Podcast

Between February 2020 and September 2023, U.S. government agencies received over $8.5 million to create their own podcasts. According to data from OpenTheBooks.com, a partner of Florida Daily News, at least 58 such podcasts were produced during this period. Many of these productions focused on promoting liberal perspectives. It was also reported that in the past four years, significant funds have been spent on producing podcasts abroad that contribute financial aid to foreign nations.

Acast, an independent podcast firm, has added the well-liked Half-Arsed History podcast to its expanding Acast Creator Network. With six million listens so far, Half-Arsed History offers a fun and insightful trip through history, sharing memorable stories from bygone eras.

The podcast includes interviews with relatives and close friends of Skylar, as well as law enforcement officials and individuals acquainted with Eddy and Shoaf. Shoaf received a 30-year jail term, but could be considered for parole after serving 10 years..

The IAB Tech Lab, a global organization that sets technical standards for digital advertising, recently revealed the latest developments in podcast measurement with its new Podcast Technical Measurement Guidelines v2.2. The public can now review and comment on these updates until March 23.
