CAITLIN KINDRED & JENNY GREEN-KUJAWA’S PODCAST JOURNEY
Meet Caitlin and Jenny, the friendly hosts of the CK & GK Podcast. They are moms, educators and best friends based in Austin, Texas. Their show, How to Be a Grownup, aims to help adults navigate life's challenges with a sense of humor. Join them as they share their wisdom on everything from parenting to personal growth. | ![]() |
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background? Caitlin: Jenny and I are best friends, wives, and elder millennial moms living in Austin, Texas. We met while teaching at the same school. Jenny likes to say that we taught together because she forced me to work full time after she was trying to take it slow and sub after the birth of my son, and that she liked me too much to only see me once in a while. | What inspired you to start a podcast? Caitlin: During quarantine, Jenny and I were on the phone as often as possible: sharing tips for getting through pandemic teaching, cleaning the bathroom, keeping our sanity... Jenny: Remember that episode of The Office when Jim and Pam get tiny Bluetooths and talk to each other all day at their jobs? That was us March-May of 2020. Caitlin: We had so much fun that we decided to start a podcast. |
How did you come up with the name of your podcast? When we were teaching together, Jenny and I planned a field trip. We needed a few of our colleagues to come with us, so I made a fancy-ish invitation and signed it "Love, CK & GK" before sending it out. It sort of stuck. | What is the main focus or theme of your show? We teach adults how to be grownups. Being middle school educators, we know firsthand how traditional school doesn't necessarily prepare you for the real-life stuff, like how to shop for appliances or choose an insurance plan. (I mean, these are things I still ask for help with, so...) So we wanted to fill that gap. ![]() |
Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you? One time Jenny and I somehow referenced Stockard Channing like five times in one episode. There’s also the time Jenny found a roach on her cape at the hair salon.
| Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why? I loved having Gretchen Schoser from Sh!t That Goes On In Our Heads on the show. She's so relatable and her story is so important. We keep in touch pretty regularly. She's the best. What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about? We just started recording for our 4th season! Lots of new episodes coming your way! |
A special thanks to CAITLIN & JENNY for sharing their insightful podcast journey thus far and we wish them all the best with their continued podcast growth.

PODCAST TOOL OF THE DAY

Explore the various features of RINGR, all designed to help you with your podcasting experience. From an easy-to-use scheduling system to the flawless combination of high-quality audio, these tools are made to simplify your production process.
Schedule
The Schedule feature in RINGR makes it easy to plan podcast recordings. It lets you send out email invites with a personal message and call time, which is useful for handling many interviews or group chats. The tool prevents double-booking and forgotten appointments by automating your schedule. It works with popular calendar apps to remind both host and guests about the recording. Plus, its user-friendly design means anyone can use it easily.
Connect
RINGR's Connect feature allows participants to join recording sessions easily. It works on many devices and operating systems, and joining is as simple as clicking a link. This feature reduces technical issues, ensuring smooth conversations. It also checks if everyone's audio equipment works properly before recording starts.
Record
The Record feature captures high-quality audio from each participant by recording locally on their devices. This avoids problems with poor internet connections. It also records separate audio tracks, allowing the host to edit each one individually later. The recording is done in the background so participants can focus on the conversation.
Upload
When the recording ends, it automatically gets saved to RINGR's secure cloud. This is a safe process that keeps your files private and protected. You don't have to wait for this - you can move on with your day while it happens in the background. The cloud has plenty of space so there's no need to worry about storage limits, whether you're saving a short chat or a long group discussion.
Merge
The Merge feature in RINGR combines individual audio tracks into one file. It aligns the tracks, controls volume levels, reduces background noise and fixes any latency issues automatically. This ensures a professional quality final product.
