iHeartMedia Podcast Workers File Labor Complaint Against Management

Podcast workers at iHeartMedia, who have been negotiating their first union contract for two years now, have accused management of intimidation. They allege that their rights to talk about work conditions and distribute union materials during breaks are being violated. Therefore, they've filed a complaint of unfair labor practices against the management.

Rotten Tomatoes awards editor, Jacqueline Coley, is set to host the new "Seen on Screen" podcast in collaboration with UFEG’s Make It Universal. The twice-a-month podcast will provide an insider's view of Universal productions and feature discussions with various Universal staff about how cinema has influenced their lives.

YouTube's Chief Product Officer, Johanna Voolich, recently discussed the platform's plans for podcasts in an interview. The aim is to establish YouTube Music as the top choice for both podcast creators and enthusiasts. This vision includes offering a conventional experience similar to what users of Google Podcasts are used to.

High school seniors Kierra Stimoff and Jackie Yanez, along with freshman Lianelyz Martell, were found sharing memories of their early schooling years. Though it seemed like a regular chat, the presence of a microphone indicated otherwise. The students are partaking in an innovative course at their high school - podcasting.

On Wednesday, Wondery, a podcast network and studio owned by Amazon, introduced its podcast subscription service, Wondery+, in the United Kingdom.

  • A study called The Infinite Dial 2024 revealed that nearly half (48%) of Americans aged 12+ believe it's crucial to stay updated on music trends. Among those who feel this way, Instagram is the preferred source for discovering new music for around two-fifths (40%). TikTok isn't far behind, with more than one-third (36%) using it as a go-to resource for new tunes. Meanwhile, almost one-third (32%) rely on Facebook to explore fresh tracks.
