The Recipe To Podcast Growth
Welcome to your daily dose of podcast growth, monetization, news & more…
Using the power of your audience to grow your show exponentially…
Premium Content - All this week, we’re gifting our readers all our premium content absolutely free. As we go on our journey together of podcast growth, monetization, networking & more.
Last Friday, we sat back and took a look at exploring exactly why listeners tune in religiously week in and week out to your show, as finding this crucial factor is the key to unlocking your show’s growth. Once we understand this point, we can use it to our advantage to start multiplying your audience every week. Here were Friday's departing questions:
How many listeners do you currently have?
How long has your show been running?
What do you think is stopping you from growing (Your show may be growing nicely, but you may also be able to grow a lot faster)
Important: Who is your key listener demographic & what do they want from your podcast?
Of the questions above, the priority thought in the forefront of any podcaster’s mind has to be, what do my listeners want to gain from my show? After all, in a world as fast-paced as today, where social media platforms are holding viewer’s attention for 7 seconds at a time before their users scroll on for the next dopamine rush, it takes a huge amount of effort for podcasters to hold a listener’s attention for an hour or more.
Once we have that vital piece of information, we can put steps into place to firstly, always have access to your listeners (This step is crucial and will be discussed later on this week). After all, it takes a lot of time and effort to acquire an audience. So when the time comes that we finally have people’s attention, we need to be able to communicate with them without being at the mercy of your podcast hosting platform.
Let’s be honest here, the job of your hosting platform is to keep listeners' focus on their site for as long as possible, and if there’s a trending podcast that week that’s gaining more attention than yours, who do think your hosting platform will be promoting in their TOP 10’s? They work the same way social media platforms operate. There are millions of fantastic creators online but I bet you, day in and day out, you see pretty much the same people on your feeds, and almost certainly it’s the popular creators that have the highest retention rates that get shown over and over again to viewers.
So how can you beat your established podcast competitors so that you edge into the TOP 10 lists?
Simple. By owning the fan base you already have and incentivizing them to share their favorite podcast with like-minded friends and family who will also benefit from that one great factor your show has to offer.

CANDICE SNYDER’S PODCAST JOURNEY
Meet Candice Snyder, a determined individual who turned her life around after a disabling work accident and found success in direct sales. Now the host of Passion, Purpose and Possibilities podcast, she inspires others with her story while promoting gratitude and community giving back through her business. |
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background? I'm a 60-year old woman from New Jersey with a passion for helping others live with passion, reclaim their purpose, and be in the wonder of possibility. | What inspired you to start a podcast? I have a direct sales business. The company I have been representing has a strong mission for giving back and community. I was one of the company’s Gratitude Ambassadors and then a Gratitude Ambassador (Alumni) Captain. When my term was up, I missed it. This inspired me to start the podcast to share and talk about the causes people care about most, along with personal stories of transformation. |
How did you come up with the name of your podcast? Believe it or not, I had these 3 words swirling around in my head. I had the opportunity to hear someone give a presentation on podcasting and my business/life coach was in attendance as well. She was texting me telling me, this is it! You should be doing a podcast! | What is the main focus or theme of your show? Stories of transformation that have led my guests to their passion and purpose, most often tied together as well as the causes people care about and support. |
Have there been any particularly memorable moments during recording that stick out to you? Yes! Beside the fact that I really do learn from every single guest, the more I talk to people the more I realize we are ALL so much more alike than different | Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why? Karl Becker. Our conversation was so genuine, his story was relatable, the conversation flowed. Yet, he brought so much value to the listener What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about? I have lots of ideas, so we will see what transpires! New website to come with automation. New sponsor coming on board as well. |
A special thanks to Candice Snyder for sharing her insightful podcast journey thus far and we wish her all the best with his continued podcast growth.
