Steven Bartlett and Ex-Acast Executives Launch Podcast Company

Entrepreneur Steven Bartlett, host of The Diary of A CEO podcast, has teamed up with former global Acast executives Georgie Holt and Christiana Brenton to create a new global podcast media and technology company. Named Flight Studio, the company will focus on developing, creating, growing and monetizing podcasts. Bartlett will serve as its founder and chairman while Holt takes charge as CEO and Brenton assumes the role of chief commercial officer.

Ted Cruz, the host of the iHeartMedia podcast Verdict, doesn't get paid directly by iHeart. Instead, a super PAC supporting him receives the payment. This arrangement is one way to fund his campaign. The show itself enjoys decent popularity among conservative political circles.
Studio71 has entered into an advertising sales contract with the popular culture podcast "Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald". The media firm will handle ad sales and brand collaborations for both audio and video formats.
Alberto Zandi, co-founder of Emerald Hospitality Group and a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree in 2023, is starting a new podcast named "30 & Thriving". The goal of this program is to motivate and offer business insights to aspiring entrepreneurs from the younger generation. His recognition as one among the world's top young change-makers by Forbes inspired him for this initiative.

Although almost nine in ten people watch live TV but heavy viewership (6+ hours a week) has declined over the past three years. On the other hand, watching TV via a video on demand streaming service increased to 83% in 2024 from 79% in 2021.
57% GenZ use YouTube to watch videos on demand, this has grown from 49% who were doing so in 2021. Disney+ Hotstar is the next widely used platform among GenZ (41%), followed by Amazon Prime Video (35%)- which has seen the largest growth in usage in the last few years.
Seven in ten GenZ respondents said they listen to podcasts each week (71%), as compared to two-thirds of the overall urban Indians population (67%).
Spotify is the most popular podcast service in India (at 41%), followed by Google podcast (21%) and Audible (16%). Spotify is notably popular among the GenZ and has witnessed a growth of 11% in the last two years, from 33% in 2022 to 44% in 2024.
