Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background? I live in the midwest. I am happily married to my husband Daniel and we have three kids. During the day I advocate for at-risk children and youth as the community engagement specialist for Big Brothers Big Sisters. I am also a motivational speaker and I was the keynote speaker for events 9 times in a 6 month time span. And finally, why I am here, I am a podcast host. My Instagram is @Megan.TRDC | What inspired you to start a podcast? The Real Deal Conversations Podcast was created to be a space that brings the real, raw, and authentic to light in order to inspire, encourage, and bring hope. Through guest's stories and topical conversations the show aims to help listeners feel less alone and empowered that healing and hope is possible! |
How did you come up with the name of your podcast? It is a play on my last name but also stays true to the heart of the show, and that is being a space for real and authentic conversations. | What is the main focus or theme of your show? Bringing inspiration, encouragement, and hope to people in our communities by people in our communities. ![]() |
Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you? My recording with Josh Shipp. It was a pretty big deal to me having him on. He is a world-famous motivational speaker. I had to defuse my nerves or else I wasn't going to be able to enjoy the moments in the recording. I was just honest about that to him, and he chatted about the spaces he still gets nervous into this day. It was cool and created another layer of authenticity.
| Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why? One of my favorite's is Dr. Amit who specializes in ADHD and Autism. That episode brought so much awareness to that community on the show. What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about? I am starting my year-long mentorship under John C. Maxwell's "High Capacity Leaders". I am very excited to see what doors open for the podcast in that. Hopefully, we see some powerhouse leaders from that space on the show. |
A special thanks to MEGAN for sharing her insightful podcast journey thus far and we wish her all the best with her continued podcast growth.
