Why Did Kamala Harris Cancel Joe Rogan Podcast Appearance?

Kamala Harris decided not to appear on Joe Rogan's podcast due to fears of a backlash from progressives within the Democratic party. The decision was criticized by some Democrats who believe that an appearance could have helped reach young male voters leaning towards Trump. Despite initial plans for the interview, it was eventually cancelled due to scheduling issues, according to Jennifer Palmieri, a senior adviser.

RAPHAELA REEB’S PODCAST JOURNEY

Meet Raphaela, the host of Stoma4Life, a radio show dedicated to Bowel Cancer Awareness and life as an Ostomate. A former airline purser turned graphic designer, her world changed when she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel Cancer. Now living a normal life post-surgery with an Ostomy, Raphaela aims to raise awareness about bowel cancer and encourages everyone to listen to their bodies' signals. Tune in for insightful discussions aimed at dispelling myths and fostering positive conversations about topics often shied away from.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

A Graphic Designer turned Flight attendant in my previous life. Now I am a still a Graphic Designer but also a Life Coach and radio presenter and podcast host.

What inspired you to start a podcast?

COVID disrupted my airline career, leading me to take early retirement. Shortly after, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer. Now cancer-free but living with a stoma, I started my podcast to raise awareness about bowel cancer and life as an ostomate.

How did you come up with the name of your podcast?

I named my podcast "Stoma4Life" because my stoma is permanent and can't be reversed, but more importantly, it saved my life. The name reflects both the reality and the gratitude I feel for this second chance.

What is the main focus or theme of your show?

The main focus of my show is to raise awareness about bowel cancer and life with a stoma. I share personal experiences, offer practical advice, and interview leaders in the surgical and nutrition fields, as well as others living with an ostomy, to provide support and break the stigma surrounding these topics.

Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you?

There have been many memorable moments, from guests sharing life-saving stoma stories to a young woman who lost eight organs to a rare cancer. Hearing how she has rebuilt her life after such a profound challenge was incredibly inspiring and unforgettable.

Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why?

One of my favourite guests has been my surgeon, who is truly my lifesaver. Having him on the show was unforgettable because we both share a passion for raising awareness about this preventable cancer, especially when detected early. His insights and experiences added so much value to the conversation.

What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about?

This is my second season, and I’m thrilled about the exciting plans ahead! Each guest brings unique insights and experiences, making every episode fresh and engaging. I’m looking forward to exploring new topics and continuing to raise awareness about bowel cancer and life with a stoma.

A special thanks to RAPHAELA for sharing her insightful podcast journey thus far and we wish her all the best with her continued podcast growth.
