Spotify quietly lets all podcasters upload videos, surpasses 250K shows

Spotify is now granting podcast creators who are not hosted on their platform the ability to upload videos. This new feature was quietly introduced last week, according to a Spotify representative. Before this change, only those registered with Spotify for Podcasters or a partnered hosting company could upload video podcasts. Although it was possible to separate video from audio feeds, it resulted in two episodes being uploaded which wasn't ideal. Now, any creator can directly upload their content onto Spotify through their chosen podcast hosting service.

Triton Digital Releases the May 2024 U.S. Podcast Ranker

Triton Digital® has released its U.S. Podcast Ranker for the period of April 29 to June 2, 2024. This ranking is based on measurements from Triton's Podcast Metrics service. The iHeart Audience Network topped the list in the Top Sales Networks Report.

200 episodes, 8 years: CompTIA Volley podcast reaches milestone

The Volley podcast by CompTIA is celebrating two significant accomplishments this week - the production of 200 unique episodes spanning eight years. To commemorate this achievement, hosts Carolyn April and Seth Robinson have invited Todd Thibodeaux, President and CEO of CompTIA, to their upcoming episode. Did You Know?

• A recent Sports Audio Report reveals that 76% of sports podcast fans keep supporting their favorite athletes even when they change teams. This is much higher than the 51% of regular sports fans who do the same. The report also shows a shift in sports fan demographics, with many listeners now being Millennials and Gen Z. Interestingly, half of these younger fans are interested in athletes' personal lives off the field.

• Hispanic listeners aged between 25-54 have shown an increased interest in podcasts, accounting for nearly a third of all ad-supported listening time according to Nielsen data - a big jump from just over 5% back in 2017. Among those aged between 18-34, podcasts are as popular as AM/FM radio when it comes to daily ad-supported audio content consumption.

• In early 2024, more than half (52.2%) of Hispanic adults were found spending their listening time on AM/FM radio while about a quarter (25.8%) preferred podcasts; followed by streaming audio at 17.5%, and SiriusXM at just over four percent.
