Headliner and Omny Studio Team Up for Better Podcast Experience

Triton Digital's podcasting platform, Omny Studio, is partnering with Headliner to allow creators to automatically produce transcripts and video clips of their audio content for YouTube. This will make it easier for podcasters to reach new audiences on various platforms. Additionally, publishers can take advantage of Triton Digital’s Podcast Metrics integration with YouTube to see how their content is consumed along with overall downloads.

Alex Cooper Signs Multi-Year Deal with SiriusXM

Alex Cooper, host of the podcast “Call Her Daddy,” has left Spotify for a $125 million deal with SiriusXM. The multi-year agreement gives SiriusXM exclusive advertising and distribution rights to her content. Despite this shift, "Call Her Daddy" will still be available on Spotify.

Kristin Myers Joins Sounds Profitable as Principal

Kristin Myers, a former executive director at talent agency UTA, has joined podcast research and advocacy firm Sounds Profitable as principal. She will work with the team to expand the company's consulting capabilities and help clients explore opportunities in industries such as film, TV, books, gaming, nonprofits and emerging technologies. Prior to this role, Myers worked for Stitcher, Anchor - a startup acquired by Spotify in 2019 - and Starburns Audio.

The Athletic Aims to Become Top US Soccer Fan Destination by 2026 World Cup

The Athletic, owned by the New York Times, aims to make its Athletic FC brand the top destination for US soccer fans by 2026 when the World Cup is hosted in America. To achieve this, it plans to rebrand its team podcasts and add more American voices over the next year. Although The Athletic does not own broadcasting rights for video content, it hopes that its portfolio of shows will attract a large soccer podcast audience.

Aditya Veera, From Podcasting to Grammy Membership

Aditya Veera Venkatesh, an Indian music podcaster, has become a member of the Grammy-awarding Recording Academy. His role involves guiding Indian artists through the Grammy submission process and promoting diversity within the academy. Aditya hopes to bridge the gap between traditional Indian music and existing Grammy categories by educating artists on how to adapt their work or potentially creating new ones.

Meet Silas W. Kelly, LMSW, your host for the "Kelsunn-on-the-Air" Social Work Podcast. Silas uses this platform to shine a light on the important work done by social workers every day. Join him as he shares educational content and inspiring stories from professionals in the field of social work.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

Silas is a Broadcast-Journalist and a licensed Social Worker. He produces and host the award-winning, "Kelsunn-on-the-Air" Social Work Podcast, one of the "40 Best in Social Work" you must follow. He is the recipient of the 2022 "International Rhoda G. Sarnat" Award. "given to an individual that has significantly advanced the public image of Professional Social Work.

What inspired you to start a podcast?

I was inspired to create this podcast to promote, highlight, and uplift the Social Work Profession. The podcast aims to educate the general public to the undeniably vital contributions Professional Social Workers make in every aspect of our society every day.

How did you come up with the name of your podcast?

Kelsunn is the name of my organization and it's my brand identity. So my podcast is an extension of my brand. It's a combination of part of my last name and my organization tag line.

What is the main focus or theme of your show?

To highlight the wide array of areas, topics, and issues that Social Workers delve into. This podcast educates listeners to all the different areas Social Workers are trained and skilled in dealing with.

Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you?

Yes. In the early days of my podcasting, I was supposed to use Skype to remote in one of my guests. I practiced all week and did test runs. I got to the library where I was recording with my two on-site guests, tried to Skype in my remote guest and nothing worked. It was a total disaster. That was the very last time that I used Skype.

 

Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why?

The Late Mr. Dalton Murchison. He was my former, most impactful Social Worker. I was able to re-connect and interview him shortly before he passed away.

What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about?

I am working on a few ideas as we get to the start of the academic year that involves some aspect of Social Work. Some possibilities are (Political Social Work, Palliative Social Work, School Social Work, Veterans Social Work, Etc.)
