SABRINA RICCI’S PODCAST JOURNEY

Sabrina Ricci is a co-host of the popular podcast 'I Know Dino'. She shares her deep passion for dinosaurs and paleontology with listeners each week. Alongside her husband Garret, Sabrina works to make complex scientific discoveries accessible and enjoyable for all. Known for her engaging style, she has endeared herself to both dinosaur experts and newcomers alike. With a background in science communication, Sabrina is not just a dinosaur enthusiast but also an expert who knows how to share knowledge in fun ways.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

I have co-produced over 500 weekly episodes of the popular dinosaur podcast I Know Dino.

Reporting on dinosaurs has brought me closer to Garret, my partner in podcasting and in life (we love dinos so much we had a dinosaur-themed wedding), and helped me rediscover my childlike wonder for both dinosaurs and science.

What inspired you to start a podcast?

We started podcasting almost ten years ago because we wanted to stay up to date on all the latest dinosaur discoveries (there’s one every week)!

We started with a website, then a podcast, and now it’s grown to include merch, books, videos, speaking opportunities, and best of all, a really engaged community of awesome people who love dinosaurs as much as us.

How did you come up with the name of your podcast?

It was a mix of incorporating dinosaurs in the name and rhyming.

What is the main focus or theme of your show?

I Know Dino is a family friendly educational podcast for adults about dinosaurs that promotes science and critical thinking. We interview experts and cover discoveries, news, and deep dives of specific dinosaurs.

Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you?

We spent our 5th wedding anniversary in a remote dinosaur town in Australia. the people who run the museum there even cooked us a wonderful dinner and after we recorded an interview with them.

Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why?

It's hard to say! One is paleontologist Nizar Ibrahim, because we always have fun chatting

What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about?

We're about to launch a DI-KNOW-IT-ALL CHALLENGE. The gist is dinosaurs have somehow come back, and listeners must use their knowledge to answer questions and help the dinos (and people) out of various predicaments. All for the chance at winning a dino-mite prize.

A special thanks to SABRINA for sharing their insightful podcast journey thus far and we wish them all the best with their continued podcast growth.
