The Athletic Expands to Australia with ARN's iHeart Partnership
The Athletic, a sports site owned by The New York Times, is expanding its reach to Australia through an advertising sales partnership with ARN's iHeart. This collaboration intends to widen the scope of Australian sports podcasts and provide advertisers with access to a new audience demographic on a large scale.

Vivek Ramaswamy's TRUTH will be joining SiriusXM's Conservative Talk Patriot channel from May 11, according to an announcement by the satellite broadcaster. The weekly show will also be available on popular podcast platforms and via the SiriusXM app.
Scott Galloway, a marketing professor at NYU Stern, is teaming up with Vox Media to create a new podcast called Prof G Markets. This show will be an offshoot of his popular existing podcast, The Prof G Pod. The new program aims to offer listeners more in-depth knowledge and commentary from both Galloway and research analyst Ed Elson on the fluctuations in capital markets.
A new podcast series called Eucharist Alive is highlighting Blessed Carlo Acutis' enthusiasm for Eucharistic Miracles. The Saints Alive podcast, a popular 30-minute show, runs this series in collaboration with the top-rated prayer application, Hallow.
Blue Wire has expanded its podcast roster by including shows led by popular athletes such as Cam Newton, J.R. Smith and Lou Williams. It also confirmed commercial tie-ups with a number of these new podcasts, and other existing ones to increase the network's content reach in areas like NFL, NBA, NCAA and golf. These moves align with Blue Wire's strategy for expanding video content and enhancing brand activation capabilities.
Nickelodeon is introducing four new preschool podcasts this month, created by Paramount Audio. The move aims to provide more content for fans of its most popular franchises. The launch includes three original shows and one renewed program.

Podcasts are popular in the Asia Pacific region, particularly in five countries: Indonesia, Thailand, India, Vietnam and the Philippines. Regular podcast listeners make up a higher-than-average percentage of consumers in these nations. Topping this list are Indonesia with 57% and Thailand with 52%. However, Japan is bucking this trend as only 10% of its consumers listen to at least one hour of podcasts weekly.
Among the 22 European markets surveyed, only in Romania do significantly more people (47%) listen to podcasts compared to the average. Spain and Sweden are close to the average with a 41% listenership. However, countries like Belgium (21%) and Netherlands (24%) have fewer regular podcast listeners. Great Britain also falls below average with just 26% stating that they listen to podcasts for an hour weekly.
A survey has shown that nearly half (48%) of Mexicans regularly listen to podcasts, and another 11% tune in for over ten hours every week. Brazilians are slightly less enthusiastic at 44%, with Colombians trailing behind at 37%.
South Africa leads the survey with the highest percentage of regular podcast listeners, sitting at a remarkable 68%. Saudi Arabia follows closely behind at second place with a rate of 59%. Egypt (56%), UAE (53%), and Morocco (45%) also show higher than average listening rates.
Despite being pioneers in podcast development, only an average of 39% Americans regularly listen to them. Canadians seem even more reluctant towards this medium as just about one-third or rather only 31% dedicate more than an hour each week to podcasts.
