Overcast Podcast App Gets Major Redesign

Developer Marco Arment launched the popular podcasting app Overcast a decade ago. Now, he has rebuilt and redesigned the app for the current era. While most of the changes aren’t going to be visible, one main difference is that you can no longer stream podcast episodes. Instead, you have to rely on downloads.

Sony Music's Global Podcast Division has revealed a collaboration with Podster today. The goal is to expand the reach of the popular history podcast 'This is History: A Dynasty to Die For' into additional regions and languages, such as Danish, Swedish, Finnish among others. This will allow listeners from Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and the Netherlands to enjoy the show in their native language.

UNC Charlotte's Center for Computational Intelligence to Predict Health and Environmental Risks has launched a new podcast series called "de-CIPHERing Infectious Disease". The show will discuss infectious diseases and environmental risks, featuring talks with top experts.

The podcast Office Ladies, hosted by Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, is shifting to Audacy from SiriusXM. From August 14 onwards, Audacy will take over the sales, distribution and production of the podcast that provides an inside view of The Office episodes. Although launched in October 2019 on SiriusXM, new episodes will still be aired every Wednesday after its move to Audacy.

ADWEEK has revealed that Lava for Good won two major awards at the 2024 ADWEEK Audio Awards. The podcast network bagged the title of Podcast Network of the Year, and their series The War on Drugs was recognized for having the Best Audience Growth Strategy. These accolades are a part of ADWEEK's efforts to acknowledge top podcasts and praise those working in this field for their exceptional creativity and innovation.

The podcast "Heart to Heart" premiered with an episode featuring Shane Farritor, a prominent Engineering professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The show's title reflects Gold's experience as a heart surgeon.
