YouTube Tops Spotify for Podcasts in Canada

New data from Triton Digital shows that podcast listening in Canada hit record highs in 2024-2025. Monthly podcast reach grew to 39%, mainly due to more English speakers tuning in. Podcast Of The Day
The Girlfriends

This gripping true-crime podcast shifts focus from "whodunit" to "whydunit" as it chronicles Kelly Harnett—a domestic abuse survivor imprisoned for murder after witnessing her boyfriend kill a man in 2010. Across eight episodes, host Anna Sinfield unravels how the justice system criminalized Harnett despite her victimhood, while spotlighting her extraordinary transformation into a self-taught legal advocate for incarcerated women. The season challenges true-crime tropes by centering a living survivor’s perspective, exposing systemic failures that punish victims of gendered violence. Releasing July 14, Jailhouse Lawyer promises an unflinching look at trauma, resilience, and the blurred line between victim and perpetrator in flawed legal systems.
