A recent study by Edison Research, SiriusXM Media, and GroupM highlighted some intriguing findings about the emotional responses of sports fans. The research found that male fans are more likely to cry over a game's result than female ones - 25% of men versus 20% of women have admitted to this.
Around half of all fans, regardless of gender, have either cried or come close due to a sporting event: 50% for men and 48% for women.
The mood swings following their favourite team or athlete’s loss were reported by 56% males compared to 41% females.
Interestingly enough among female fans, Black ones appeared most affected by the outcome (50%), followed by Latina (42%) and white (37%).
