International Expansion for Podtrac Measurement Service

Podtrac, a podcast measurement service, is extending its ranking system to 30 new countries. Unlike its U.S rankings which only include subscribed publishers, the international methodology uses download measurements and estimates for all podcasts in a region. The monthly rankings aim to provide insights on podcast trends for publishers, advertisers and listeners.

Joe Rogan's Podcast is the Top Choice for Young Listeners / AM/FM Radio Dominates Daily Audio Time

The Joe Rogan Experience is the top podcast in the U.S. attracting a vast audience, especially young and independent-minded listeners. Meanwhile, Edison Research's Share of Ear® study reveals that 36% of daily audio time in the U.S. is spent on AM/FM radio while streaming music platforms account for 21%. Thus both traditional and digital audio platforms continue to hold significant influence over audiences across the country.

Longtime News Host Mark Belling Shifts to Podcast

Mark Belling, a long-time host at "NewsTalk 1130" WISN Milwaukee, is leaving his radio program to start a weekly podcast. The new project will launch in May 2025 and will feature breaking news stories and interviews, reflecting Mark's distinctive investigative journalism style. While he transitions to this new medium with iHeartMedia, Belling's influential commentary will still be accessible for listeners anytime via iHeartPodcasts.

Sinclair Expands with Donovan-Howard Soccer Podcast

Sinclair is launching a new podcast called "Unfiltered Soccer with Landon Donovan and Tim Howard" on November 12. The show will feature U.S. soccer legends Landon Donovan and Tim Howard offering in-depth analysis, insights, and stories about the game. The podcast will be available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and all other podcast platforms.

Kelce Brothers Win Sexiest Podcast Hosts Alive Title

Brothers Jason and Travis Kelce have been named the Sexiest Podcast Hosts Alive in PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive 2024 Readers' Choice Poll. They discussed their win on their podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. The pair beat other popular podcast hosts like Penn Badgley, Josh Peck, and T.J. Holmes to claim the title.

Meet Aaron Forsyth, one of the hosts of the Shlicketty Doocast. Born and raised in Erie, PA, he's a true child of the 70s', 80s' and 90s'. Raised on cable TV, rock n roll music and an array of snack foods. He loves diving deep into pop culture discussions and never shies away from a good comedy or movie talk. When it comes to suburban hijinks, Aaron is your go-to guy!

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

I am a gigging comedian and former musician with a flair for the absurd.

What inspired you to start a podcast?

My childhood friend moved back to our hometown and he is a film guy, I'm a comic and figured we could collab

How did you come up with the name of your podcast?

I have an odd vernacular. But I was about to go on stage once and another comic asked what I was about to do...so I said "my Shlickettydoo"...

What is the main focus or theme of your show?

The main theme of our show is humorous discussions about pop culture.

Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you?

There have been numerous unforgettable instances during the recording, but we ensure consistency.

 

Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why?

I have a few episodes that I prefer over the others.

What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about?

Add guests, try and get sponsors and listeners. Goal is to monetize

How To Import Show

  1. Log into Transistor and click "Add show"

    Click on "Add show" in the "My Shows" menu. Use the "Import an Existing Show" section.

  2. Find your main RSS feed for your show

    To locate the main feed URL for your podcast, follow these steps. If you use Simplecast, go to the "Sharing" section in the menu and copy the URL listed under "RSS Feed." For Libsyn users, find this by going to your Dashboard and selecting "Designations." Then press “Edit” next to “Libsyn Classic Feed.”

  3. Wait while they  import your show

    The Transistor system will bring your feed into its platform. The time this takes can vary based on the number of episodes involved. You'll receive an email once it's completed.

  4. Find your new RSS feed URL on Transistor

    Once the show is imported, it will be possible to view it on Transistor, including all previous episodes. Additionally, the new RSS feed URL can be obtained.

  5. Update your RSS feed URL in Apple Podcast Connect

    Log into your account on Apple's Podcast Connect

  6. Update your RSS feed on Spotify

    Go to Spotify Podcast Portal. Select your podcast on Dashboard. Click "Settings". Press the "Update" button. Insert new RSS feed URL. Confirm settings for Spotify to get new episodes from this feed!

  7. Forward your new feed URL

    Now, return to your previous podcast host (like Simplecast, Libsyn, etc.) and redirect your old feed to your new Transistor feed. 

    Forward your old Simplecast feed

    Navigate to "Podcast settings" and find "Advanced settings." Paste your new Transistor feed URL in the "RSS Feed Redirect" field. Press "Save Changes." The 301 redirect will guide subscribers from the old RSS feed to the new one. 

    Forward your old Libsyn feed

    To redirect your RSS feed in Libsyn, firstly, access "Settings" from the Dashboard. Next, select "Redirects" on the left sidebar. Insert your new Transistor feed URL into the "Feed Redirect URL" box and then hit save. This action ensures a permanent redirection of your RSS feed via Libsyn even post-cancellation. 

    Forward your old PodBean feed

    Log into your account and visit this URL: http://www.podbean.com/feed-redirect-301

  8. Start to close down your previous hosting account

    Wait 14 days before removing your previous hosting account. Save old analytics data as it won't move to Transistor and will reset. Check the redirect is working by seeing if new episodes on Transistor appear on podcast directories like Spotify, Apple Podcasts etc. Once you've confirmed the redirect works and saved old analytics, delete the previous hosting account.
