Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background? I am the founder and creator of The Little Black & White Book Project, a sensory gift brand that hopes to inspire the next generation of wildlife lovers and conservationists form as early an age as possible. I write and illustrate books, flash cards, activities, a newspaper and more in the hop that it sparks a connection with our wild planet as children grow and learn. | What inspired you to start a podcast? This year I have decided to really focus on why I started my business. Which was to share a whole plethora of wild, weird and wonderful animals with children so they can grow up knowing more about our natural world. A podcast is a great screen free option to entertain with some fun facts and to hopefully reach a new audience. |
How did you come up with the name of your podcast? I was thinking about the Hollywood Walk of Fame which has stars from the movie world set into it for prosperity. It feels like a big deal if someone makes it there. So I was wondering what the equivalent could be for the animal world to celebrate species from around the globe, plus I use the word 'wild' a lot so it felt like a good fit to call it The Wild Walk of Fame! | What is the main focus or theme of your show? The main focus is sharing some facts about one specific animal in each episode. Season two will be a bit more structured, but essentially I cover their habitat, their features, their diet, their family dynamic and then any other stand-out facts that would be cool to know. I then round up with a few storybook recommendations. Hopefully, it is fun and educational. ![]() |
Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you? I think it's just how much of a learning curve it is. I feel like each time you record or speak into the mic you get that little bit better, calmer, and smoother. It becomes more relaxed and you learn more about the techie side. I am loving the journey of learning something new! | Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why? - What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about? Season two is going to be more of the same but as I mentioned, a little more structured so listeners know what to expect from each episode. I've re-recorded my intro and sign off to make it much more child friendly (originally I recorded it with adults in mind so that doesn't really work) I am just super keen to keep going and build my audience. |
A special thanks to RUTH for sharing her insightful podcast journey thus far and we wish her all the best with her continued podcast growth.
