Premium Content - Can you believe it's Friday already? We hope you've been following along with our newly revamped premium newsletter this week for the best advice on podcast growth & monetization methods. This week, we've looked at the power of owning your audience and creating an email funnel to have your listeners ready to communicate with you at the drop of an email.
Word-of-mouth can be a powerful tool in growing your podcast. When your listeners enjoy your content, they are likely to recommend it to their friends, family, and colleagues. This form of advertising is not only free but also highly effective since people are more likely to trust recommendations from those they know.

Once you've built a community for your podcast, you can communicate with your listeners through email. This is useful to update them about your next show, featured guests, or special events where they could meet you. You may also inform them if there's a new sponsor for the week. Direct communication like this is very effective and beneficial.
Moving forward with your podcast growth and new email funnel to grow your audience, you have to embrace your new listeners who have been referred to you by your veteran fans and start the referral cycle all over again with the newbies by offering them the same great incentives to open the doors to their black book of contacts. The referral cycle continues and helps increase your audience size beyond what you might have imagined.
"People are social beings and want interaction and social learning is the primary form of learning, just as word of mouth advertising is the highest form of advertising." Stephen Covey
Next week, there's a monster in the room in the form of social media marketing, where we will be looking at methods every day to boost your online presence and drive organic traffic to not only your email funnel but also drive new listeners directly to your podcast episodes.
We have two special offers for our newsletter. You can either pay $19.99 a month for our educational content or a $59.99 per month to receive the newsletter and our podcast promotional services where we promote your awesome show.

JENNIFER FINKS’S PODCAST JOURNEY
Jennifer Fink is a retired portrait photographer who has taken up podcasting as her new passion. She decided to create this supportive platform after becoming the primary caregiver for her mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. Her goal is to help others navigate similar situations and provide answers she struggled to find herself. |
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background? I've always been an entrepreneur, even as a kid. For 20 or so years I was a professional portrait photographer. I adore creating memories for families that they will cherish forever. However, technology is making people think they don't need people with my skills. When my Dad died & I became responsible for my Mom, I saw a need that wasn't being filled. A lot has changed but more needs to happen. | What inspired you to start a podcast? I was reading and researching best caregiving practices and failing miserably. My goal for my Mom was to give her the best quality of life while not prolonging dying from Alzheimer's (easier said than done). When I went looking for a podcast on caregiving, there was one. For better or worse it wasn't my cup of tea so in 2018, I launched my own show. |
How did you come up with the name of your podcast? After retelling a story about Mom and another resident, a former client suggested I write a book. At the time I thought "As The Memory Fades" was a good title. That's too long for a podcast name so it got shortened to Fading Memories. | What is the main focus or theme of your show? Fading Memories is a podcast for caregivers of loved ones with dementia. It provides insights and guidance on communicating effectively, managing stress, and coping with grief and loss. The lessons are relevant to anyone caring for a loved one with a chronic illness or disability. By prioritizing the well-being of both caregivers and their loved ones, the podcast's messages of empathy and self-car ![]() |
Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you? I've interviewed people living with Alzheimer’s and one gentleman made a joke out of one of my questions. His son had gotten dropped off Zoom and while we continued waiting for him to log back in, we kept the conversation going. His response was so funny I nearly drowned my mic in water. My guests are inspiring, engaging, and informative & most of them are really fun & interesting people. | Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why? No favorite comes to mind in over 325 episodes, but I do like talking to people living well with their disease. It's inspiring. What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about? While I love talking to caregivers turned creative and all the folks who are doing everything they can to support family caregivers, we have a hidden crisis on our hands. Until corporate America understands that elder care is already costing them money, nothing of substance will change about elder care. I have hired an agent to get me "out there" talking to COOs & HR execs about this issue. |
A special thanks to Jennifer Fink for sharing her insightful podcast journey thus far and we wish her all the best with his continued podcast growth.
