Join the Second Annual Video Podcast Program by TELUS STORYHIVE

TELUS STORYHIVE is launching applications for its second annual Video Podcast program, calling on new and experienced podcasters to share their stories. Selected participants will receive $12,000 in funding, training and community support to produce an eight-episode video podcast series. Applications must be submitted online by December 12, 2024.

Platform Media Buys Major Share in Top Rugby Show

Platform Media has bought a majority stake in The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, the world's most popular rugby media brand. This is Platform Media's first purchase under PodX Group, which took over a significant share of Platform Media in May 2024. With this acquisition, plans are underway to further expand the show and explore new avenues within sports.

Jomla Launches Tech Podcast for Enthusiasts

E-commerce platform, Jomla, has launched a podcast for tech enthusiasts and budding podcasters. The podcast will offer news on the latest technology, tips for creating professional audio content and product reviews. This move is in line with Jomla's mission to support creators, as it already uses advanced AI to provide a personalized shopping experience.

Beasley Media Group Sees Drop in Third-Quarter Revenue

Beasley Media Group's third-quarter revenue fell by 3.2% to $58.2 million due to a decline in audio advertising and the closure of some businesses. However, they reported an operating income of $1.2 million, compared to an operating loss of $85.5 million during the same period last year. Despite experiencing challenges in the audio advertising market, CEO Caroline Beasley highlighted their digital transformation strategy as key to increasing monetization.

Matt Forte to Host Sports Spectrum Podcast

Former Chicago Bears star, Matt Forte, is set to become the new host of the Sports Spectrum Podcast from Nov. 5, 2024. He will co-host with Jason Romano and discuss topics related to faith, sports and culture. Forte is excited about this opportunity as it aligns with his purpose in life.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

Hi, I’m Jo, a solution-based life coach at Conscious Pathways Solutions. With a background in fundraising and healthcare, I realized those work environments didn’t nurture my purpose or sense of fulfilment. Through a journey of self-discovery, I became an intuitive coach & mentor, guiding women to unlock their potential, discover, evolve, and lead themselves with more confidence & self-compassion.

What inspired you to start a podcast?

I was inspired to start the Find Your Purpose Podcast to connect with health coaches and healers and explore their journeys of transformation. Hearing how others discovered their purpose and aligned with their true calling moved me to share these insights. Through these interviews, I aim to inspire listeners to find their path, live with purpose, and step into their full potential.

How did you come up with the name of your podcast?

During my Level Two Counsellor training, I explored my core values, and purpose surfaced as a key theme. I realized how much my core wounds as a young adult stemmed from not feeling a true sense of purpose. This insight not only shaped my journey but also inspired the creation of Conscious Pathways Solutions, where I help others find their purpose and fulfillment.

What is the main focus or theme of your show?

The main theme of the Find Your Purpose Podcast revolves around exploring personal journeys of transformation and self-discovery. Each episode features interviews with health coaches, healers, and thought leaders who share their insights on uncovering purpose and aligning with their true calling. The podcast aims to inspire listeners to embrace their unique paths and overcome challenges.

Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you?

Hana Ashtara, an embodiment guide, has been one of my favourite guests. The way she opened the show was captivating. She shared how she always wanted to be a ballerina but struggled to find her true path. It was a heartfelt interview that delved into her journey, from initially training as a lawyer to realizing that wasn’t her calling. Instead of conforming, she embraced her spiritual journey.

 

Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why?

Interviewing Jenarden Sellathurai an NHS doctor and wellbeing practitioner, his deep desire to always be a doctor inspired me.

What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about?

I already have a lot of recorded interviews scheduled until 18th Dec. However, have my next interview recording with Izzy Weatherall, a 22-year-old women, who recently swam the English channel in 17 hours. She's a very inspiring young lady, I can't wait to interview her on my show. We also are fellow DJs. I'm creating a new coaching package for 2025 called Discover, Evolve and Expand Your Purpose!

PODCAST TOOL OF THE DAY

  1. Upload Your Video to OpusClip

    Log into OpusClip and choose your desired video. You can either upload a file directly or use a link from sites such as YouTube, Zoom, or Rumble.

  2. ‍Select Captions Style

    Once your video is uploaded to OpusClip, you can begin editing by selecting a caption style either from premade templates inspired by popular creators or create your own unique style. These custom-made styles can be saved for future videos to maintain consistency.

  3. Choose Your Genre of Video

    OpusClip is an AI tool that edits your video according to its genre. For instance, if you're creating a podcast short, simply select "Podcast" from the drop-down menu for optimal results.

  4. Set Your Clip Length

    OpusClip offers a variety of clip lengths suitable for different platforms. The recommended "Auto (0m-3m)" setting is ideal for most situations, automatically optimizing your clip for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube shorts where videos are typically under 3 minutes. If you need specific time frames, options such as <30s or 60s-90s are also available.

  5. Add Keywords (optional)

    You can filter by keywords to direct the AI in finding relevant video clips for your topic. If you don't have specific keywords, click "Get Clips in 1 Click" for automatic generation. Please note this may take a few minutes.

  6. Review and Edit Your Clips

    The program generates multiple clips for you to choose from. Select the ones that align with your goals and edit them using the Opus Editor, a tool that allows precise editing of captions or video. After selecting a clip, simply click "Edit Clip" to start refining it according to your needs in the OpusClip editor.

    Add or Remove Sections - To edit a longer video, click “Add a Section from Transcript”, highlight the part you want to add and select "+Add". If you wish to remove parts, choose the text and hit “Remove caption & video”, which precisely edits out that section. You can always re-add removed sections using the +Add button.

    Change the Layout - The Opus Editor splits your video into clips using preset layouts. The Fill layout fills the screen when one speaker is talking, while the Split layout stacks two speakers on screen for simultaneous viewing. These presets can accommodate up to four speakers at a time.

    Adjust the Framing - In the Opus Editor, you can correct out-of-frame speakers or alter the zoom level by double-clicking on the frame to be modified, resizing or moving the framing box to your preferred area and clicking Apply. This guarantees that the speaker is always visible.

    Modify the Template and Captions - On the editor's right side, you'll find options to modify your clip including adjusting caption style, aspect ratio and position. You can also edit font, color, size and add animations in the caption settings for customization. After selecting a template and caption style, save it as a preset for easy use in future videos. Any typos or grammatical errors in video captions can be quickly fixed in the editor.

    Generate AI B-roll - You can enhance your Podcast short by adding B-roll, which keeps viewers interested. Using OpusClip's AI-generated B-roll feature, you don't need to make your own. The system uses keywords from your video to generate and insert relevant B-roll automatically. If needed, you can also adjust the AI-generated b-roll or pick from our stock library.

  7. Finalize and Export Your Clip

    After editing, click "Save Changes" and "Download" to export your clip. You can also download the XML file for more edits in Adobe Premiere. The finalizing and downloading process might take a few minutes.
