Nabil Ayers, a music executive, has started a new podcast named Identified. The inspiration for the podcast comes from his 2022 memoir My Life In The Sunshine and its subsequent promotional tour.

Podcasting, which started modestly about two decades ago, has been steadily gaining more listeners and attracting increased advertising revenue. The reason for its popularity among advertisers is that it appeals largely to a younger demographic compared to other major media platforms. Steve Goldstein, the founder and CEO of Amplifi Media, found in his research that the average age of podcast listeners is just 34.

The TV Talk podcast by Deadline is returning for a new season, leading up to the 76th Emmy Awards on September 15. With Succession out of the picture this year, other nominees for Outstanding Drama Series may feel less competition.

An Australian reality TV personality, Brittany Hockley, has touched many hearts online with her engagement announcement. She surprised Laura Byrne, her co-host on the Life Uncut podcast, by revealing that she is set to marry Benjamin Siegrist, a Swiss pro footballer.

Corus Entertainment is ending its unapproved talk show on FM in Calgary and aims to introduce a new music station by July's end. The company first introduced QR Calgary: Talk on FM in January 2023, which was broadcasted on the previous Classic Rock station Q107 (CFGQ-FM), alongside 770 CHQR.

The Podcast Catalyst
