The CEO of TuneIn commented that the partnership supports high-quality content delivery for listeners while aiding in effective digital audio advertising inventory monetization.

Robert Downey Jr.-Produced Show Dives into 'Tough-Love' Teen Rehab Story

The popular podcast "The Sunshine Place", executive produced by Robert Downey Jr., will focus its second season on Straight Inc., a controversial teen rehab program from the 1980s. The first two episodes of the new season will be available on October 30, with weekly releases following until December 11. The producers say they aim to shed light on how vulnerable families can face dangerous outcomes when seeking solutions for complex problems.

Handsome Podcast Joins Headgum Comedy Network

The popular podcast "Handsome" by comedians Tig Notaro, Fortune Feimster and Mae Martin has joined the comedy podcast network Headgum after achieving 20 million listens in just over a year. The team will soon start recording video episodes at Headgum’s LA studio and continue to feature well-known guests who pose simple, humorous questions that lead to lively discussions. Having launched independently in August 2023, Handsome recently won the Listener’s Choice for Best Co-Host Team at the 2024 Signal Awards.

Steve Bannon Released from Prison, Continues Political Podcast

Steve Bannon, a former Trump strategist, was recently released from federal prison after serving four months for contempt of Congress. He had refused to comply with a subpoena issued by the January 6th Committee, leading to his conviction in 2022. Upon release, he gave an interview where he blamed Nancy Pelosi for his prosecution and encouraged listeners of his podcast to defeat Democrats at the polls.

Meet Adrienne, a charismatic guy who is the host of Gratuitous German for Beginners. Known for his infectious laughter and witty humor, he has an impressive knack for making learning languages enjoyable. With expertise in both German and English language, media and culture, Adrienne simplifies complex concepts into bite-sized knowledge nuggets.

How did you come up with the name of your podcast?

We decided that we would take a humorous look at the German language, and German and Austrian culture as the focus of our podcast. We also agreed that we would have to have a rating, as one of my wonderful co-hosts has no filter. We threw out a few ideas for a name, and Gratuitous German for Beginners just felt right to us, given the gratuitous nature of some of our content.

What is the main focus or theme of your show?

We look at the German language, as well as focusing in on a different aspect of the Austrian and/ or German culture, and compare it to that of American and English culture. So far we have covered such topics as bad translations, food, alcohol, and rivalries between cultures and peoples. We have a ton of topics planned for the future too.

Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you?

In our rivalries episode, we pitted a team of German celebrities and a team of American celebrities against one another in an online Hunger Games simulation. It was particularly hilarious and I we had a great laugh doing it. Tune in to the episode to see which celebrity was victorious.

Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why?

Kevin Ryan of the Tyrant in Training Podcast, he was great fun to have on.

What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about?

I don't want to give too much away, but the next one will be looking at certain aspects of folklore in our respective countries of origin.
