MIKE ALTON’S PODCAST JOURNEY

With a wealth of experience in marketing and a passion for artificial intelligence, Mike simplifies the complex world of AI into digestible, practical advice. Whether you're an experienced marketer or just starting out, Mike's insights will help you leverage AI to take your marketing strategies to the next level. Tune in as he unpacks the power of AI in marketing with clarity and simplicity that everyone can understand. | ![]() |
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background? I have been a voice and expert in the digital marketing space since the early 2000s, focused on helping other marketers and business owners keep up with constant changes in social media, SEO, and marketing technology. | What inspired you to start a podcast? I recognize that podcasts offer an unprecedented opportunity to not only create rich content that can reach and help target audiences but also have incredible conversations with experts who can help me as much as my audience. |
How did you come up with the name of your podcast? I wanted to make it crystal clear what my podcast was about, who it was for, and what the expectations would be. We talk about artificial intelligence, and how the AI revolution is impacting the marketing industry. But the show isn't about the latest news or developments, it's about unpacking what the advancement of the technology means to interested marketers. | What is the main focus or theme of your show? The show is devoted to exploring every aspect of digital marketing and how it's being impacted and improved by AI. The underlying theme is helping today's marketers and businesses prepare for tomorrow's state of marketing - an industry that is going to be wildly different than it is now, with AI-driven processes, automation, and analysis. ![]() |
Have there been any particularly memorable moments during the recording that stick out to you? One guest, Chris Penn, while talking about the use of AI in podcasting, demonstrated live during the recording, without prep, how to use AI to analyze potentially hundreds of existing guest interviews in order to surface questions a guest has never been asked.
| Who has been one of your favorite guests so far, and why? One of my favorite guests has been Katie Richman, who was not only advocating for AI use long before others, she correctly perceived the importance of viewing AI as an assistant or intern. Her viewpoint has been incredibly impactful on me. What's next for your show – any exciting plans we should know about? I'm currently exploring doing more solo episodes, and am mapping out how I might begin doing AI audits or strategy sessions with marketers or businesses "live" on the podcast. The guest episodes are mazing but these other formats will help me deliver more authority. |
A special thanks to MIKE for sharing his insightful podcast journey thus far and we wish him all the best with his continued podcast growth.
