YouTube, Netflix Top TV and Podcast Charts

YouTube and Netflix held the largest shares of streaming television viewing in September, with YouTube at 12.6% and Netflix at 8.3%, according to Nielsen. Overall, 45.2% of TV viewing time was spent on streaming services, slightly down from previous summer months. This decrease is partly due to fewer major content releases and the return of traditional TV programming like NFL football. Netflix will soon offer podcasts in partnership with Spotify, bringing this content to its platform next year. The move helps Spotify expand its video podcast business, while YouTube remains the top place for podcast watching, with 400 million hours viewed monthly on TV devices.

Podcast Tool

The Sony MDR-7506 is a studio-standard reference headphone prized by podcasters and audio professionals for its accurate, uncolored sound reproduction. Its 40mm drivers and neodymium magnets deliver exceptional clarity—particularly in the mid and high ranges—making it ideal for detecting subtle audio imperfections like hisses or mouth noises during editing and recording. While its utilitarian design isn't flashy, the lightweight, foldable build ensures comfort during long sessions, and replaceable ear cushions extend its lifespan. The coiled cable provides reach but adds some weight, a minor trade-off for what remains one of the most reliable and trusted tools for critical listening on a budget.

Podcast Of The Day

All There Is

All There Is, hosted by CNN's Anderson Cooper, has grown from a personal exploration of grief into a resonant community for listeners navigating loss. Launched in 2022 as Cooper processed his mother Gloria Vanderbilt's passing, the podcast has evolved into a year-round production with weekly episodes and an accompanying live streaming series. The show creates an intimate space where guests and audience members share vulnerable stories, fostering connection and dialogue around mourning. Its expansion into "All There Is Live"—featuring guests like Ken Burns, Patti Smith, and Tig Notaro—further deepens this mission, allowing real-time interaction and reinforcing Cooper's goal of helping people feel less alone in their grief through honest conversation.
