True Crime Podcasts Win Big with Women and Diverse Audiences

Libsyn and Sounds Profitable have released a 2024 report revealing the latest trends in True Crime podcasts, showing they offer brands unique advertising opportunities. The genre is the fifth most popular in the US with approximately 42 million listeners last month, many of whom are college-educated with higher household incomes. The report highlighted that True Crime has strong appeal among women and diverse audiences who are highly receptive to brand messages.

ABC's Successful Year in Podcast Rankings

The ABC continues to lead in the Triton Australian Podcast Ranker, marking a year of dominance especially with its news titles. In November alone, 'ABC News Top Stories' had 751,000 listeners while four other podcasts recorded their highest number of listeners for the year. The ABC has consistently held more titles in the ranker than any other publisher and saw an increase of 5.6% monthly listeners from the past six-month average.

More Latinos Engage with Video Podcasts

The Latino Podcast Listener Report 2024 suggests that video podcasts are becoming increasingly popular among U.S. Latinos, with 86% of listeners actively watching videos while listening to a podcast. This is higher than the 72% who consume audio-only content. The report indicates that video is becoming an important part of the podcasting experience for these listeners.

Adelicious Doubles Campaign Spend and Brand Portfolio in 2024

Adelicious, an independent podcast hosting network, has doubled its campaign spend and the number of brands advertising since 2023. This year, it delivered its one-billionth ad impression and reported a four times higher monthly listenership than major global platforms. Its growth was driven by new additions to the network, exceptional revenue growth and high-profile clients such as Amex, Airbnb and Virgin Atlantic.

Headliner Launches AI Caption Generator for Social Media

Headliner, a podcast promotion platform, has launched an AI social media caption generator tool. The feature creates platform-specific captions for videos and audiograms automated in Headliner, simplifying the process of sharing podcast content on social media. The tool is part of Headliner's suite of automated tools designed to aid podcast growth and discovery by saving time on marketing tasks.
