Alpha Media to Launch Podcast Radio in Missouri

Alpha Media will introduce Podcast Radio in Missouri following the success of Beasley Media Group's launch in other US markets. The new format will debut on KREI-AM in Farmington from May 27 and later on KWIX-AM/FM, Moberly from June 17. This news comes after Alpha made waves because they fired all employees at both KREI and KWIX stations earlier this month.

Magellan AI: Majority Of April’s Top Podcast Advertisers Increased Spending.

According to Magellan AI, nine out of the top 15 podcast advertisers boosted their ad spending in April compared to March. However, despite this increase by some, total spending among these leading advertisers fell on a month-to-month basis. The combined expenditure for podcast ads by these 15 top spenders was around $46.36 million last month, showing a drop of 6% from the previous month's estimates.

Pod X acquires Platform Media in its largest global deal

PodX, a worldwide podcast organization, has revealed its biggest global transaction yet - the primary purchase of Platform Media. This deal is projected to be the most noteworthy in the UK's podcast industry history once fully realized, with an initial valuation exceeding ten million.

Queen’s Reading Room Podcast returns featuring Kate Mosse and Neil Gaiman

The Queen’s Reading Room Podcast is back for its second season starting today, 20th May. This season will feature authors like Kate Mosse, Neil Gaiman, Peter James and Richard E Grant among others. The podcast will run weekly for nine episodes and also include guests such as Mel Giedroyc, Santa Montefiore, Ben Okri, Clare Mackintosh and Curtis Sittenfeld.

Here’s Your Definitive Podcast About The Cars Of Fake Bands

A group of old friends have recently launched a podcast, focusing on fictional bands from film and television. The idea stemmed from an early 2000s website named fakebands.com that listed these imaginary musical groups. Later, the concept was turned into a book. I made a guest appearance on their show to discuss famous cars associated with these pretend bands such as The Blues Brothers' Bluesmobile, the Amphicats driven by the Banana Splits characters and more notably, the impressive Monkeemobile from 'The Monkees'.

Hit podcast ‘and that’s why we drink’ announces ‘the pour decisions tour’

The well-known podcast "And That's Why We Drink" has revealed plans for a live tour in 2024, titled "The Pour Decisions Tour". The tour will be produced by Live Nation and is set to start on September 12 at the Victoria Theater in Newark, NJ. The show will travel to various cities including Portland, Dallas, Atlanta and San Francisco among others. It concludes with its final performance on December 4 at the Observatory North Park in San Diego.

• The growth in podcast consumption in Nigeria to the younger generation, particularly Gen Z, aged between 18 and 24 years, who constitute a significant 50% of total podcast streams over the past 90 days.

• Listeners aged 25 to 29 years contributed 21% of the total podcast streams, further demonstrating the broad appeal of podcasts in Nigeria.

• Spotify’s data for Nigeria reveals that the prime podcast listening hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., likely coinciding with commutes, traffic, or morning routines.
