More Drivers Want Podcasts in Cars but Radio Still Rules

Gracenote’s 2025 Automotive Infotainment Report shows that while more U.S. drivers are streaming content in their cars and want easier access to podcasts and video, AM/FM radio is still the most-used in-car medium due to its simplicity and familiarity. Drivers value interesting and personalized content over fewer ads and would use in-dash systems more if they were safer and easier to use. As cars get more screens, there’s a big opportunity for podcasters and streaming companies to create engaging audio and video experiences for passengers, especially children.

Podcast Tool

The JLab Talk is a standout USB microphone that delivers remarkable value, offering professional features like four recording modes—cardioid, stereo, omnidirectional, and bidirectional. While it competes directly with pricier models like the Blue Yeti Nano, its strength lies in crisp, clear audio capture in cardioid and stereo modes, making it ideal for podcasters, streamers, and remote workers on a budget. Though bidirectional recording may lack the polish of higher-end mics, the Talk’s performance and affordability free up resources for essential accessories like pop filters or stands, lowering the barrier to quality home recording without compromising on core functionality.
