Dax Shepard's 'Armchair Expert' Inks Exclusive Deal with Amazon's Wondery

Dax Shepard's hit podcast "Armchair Expert" has secured an exclusive contract with Amazon's Wondery for distribution and advertising sales. This agreement also includes new programs, merchandise, and more. The deal involves Wondery teaming up with Shepard and the "Armchair Expert" crew to create two new podcasts each year plus a live stream event. Additionally, any further podcasts developed by Shepard will be first offered to Wondery.

eVolver Podcasts is delighted to unveil its newest podcast, Non-Beta Alpha, with host Ryan Morfin. As an accomplished entrepreneur and finance guru, Morfin aims to give listeners unique economic perspectives and a glimpse into the future through exploring new tech trends.

Content creator Anna Sitar shared with PEOPLE that she is beginning a new journey in the world of podcasts. She revealed on Thursday, July 11, that her upcoming podcast will be named "Anna’s Guide". She expressed her excitement about this venture and believes it will help her interact more closely with her audience. The podcast aims to create an environment where listeners can feel comfortable, positive and empowered.

Larry Mantle, known for hosting Southern California's longest daily talk show "Air Talk" on LAist 89.3 KPCC Los Angeles, is venturing into podcasting. He will team up with his son Desmond to create a new podcast under LAist Studios named Passing the Mantle. The duo will use this platform to discuss their thoughts on how the world has evolved or remained consistent over different generations.

Owen Wilson is set to portray Yeti hunter Tom Slick in a forthcoming scripted podcast. The show will also feature the voices of Sissy Spacek and Schuyler Fisk. Titled "Tom Slick: Mystery Hunter", this series comes from School of Humans and iHeartPodcasts. This eight-episode series, launching on July 18, draws inspiration from the mostly factual but untold story of explorer, reputed scientist and possible spy, Tom Slick.

In 2017, Alice Wong initiated the now-concluded Disability Visibility podcast with the intention of providing a platform for individuals frequently overlooked in mainstream media and society. As the presenter, Wong facilitated weekly discussions featuring disabled individuals from various walks of life - writers, refugees, entrepreneurs, designers and caregivers.

  • Podcasts are becoming more popular, especially among children and young adults. From 2019 to 2021, there was a growth of 20% in the number of kids who listened to Children's podcasts. In fact, nearly half of all young people aged between 13 and 24 admitted that they had listened to a podcast last year - this is a massive increase of almost 60% from just three years prior.

  • Instead of watching TV or playing video games, many people now prefer listening to podcasts. They offer an interesting way to learn new things without having to look at a screen. Teachers also find them useful for making lessons more enjoyable and relevant.

  • When asked why they listen to podcasts, most children aged between six and twelve said it's because they're fun. The pressure from adults didn't seem to play much part in their decision.

  • Guy Raz believes that one reason why podcasts are so engaging is because they don't use visuals. This allows writers greater freedom for creativity when telling stories as listeners can imagine whatever best fits with what they hear.
